Pamela Rucker Springs is a successful communications strategist with more than 20 years of experience in corporate and public affairs communications. As Vice President of Communications and External Relations, Ms. Springs directs policy communications strategy and activities in support of its legislative agenda and works to position the Urban League as a thought leader in civil rights and economic justice.
Prior to joining the Urban League, Ms. Springs headed her own communications consultancy, Springs Forward Communications, whose clients included National Geographic Enterprises. Ms. Springs also served as Sr. Director of Corporate Communications for AOL, Inc. where she was responsible for reputation management. Before joining AOL, she was Vice President of Communications for Discovery Commerce, the retail and merchandising arm of Discovery Communications.
Ms. Springs also served as Vice President of Public Relations for the National Retail Federation and began her career as a Press Assistant in the Office of then-Republican Leader, Senator Bob Dole (R-KS).
A native and resident of Washington, DC, Ms. Springs earned a Bachelor’s degree in Communications from American University.
